This successful candidate will report to the Manager: Systems & Service Proposals

Job Purpose

  • Responsibility for selling the company’s process control systems solutions.

Key Accountability and Responsibility

  1. Responsible for individual order intake target.
  2. Qualify all systems opportunities.
  3. Establish and maintain excellent relationships with key prospects / clients.
  4. Earn respect from prospects and clients by adding value.
  5. Create relationships at the highest level possible in the organisation.
  6. Be “Consultant”-like in demonstrating “added value” to the customer over and above the product/system.
  7. Be accountable for developing the pipeline and managing stable, predictable order intake numbers.
  8. Systems Demonstrations, Presentations and detailed discussions at customer locations and in Demo / Engineering / Training Centers in South Africa.
  9. Regular visits to potential customers.
  10. Manage the Customer relationship in an optimal manner to facilitate new systems business acquisition, upgrade of existing systems, sales of software packages, and customer satisfaction.
  11. Produce technically and commercially acceptable proposals, tender documents and bid submissions.
  12. Develop and deliver customer presentations.
  13. Stay abreast of strategic and technical developments on company’s Systems.
  14. Maintain vigilance on the activities of competitors.
  15. To participate as a member of the systems division team in the pursuit of its business activities.
  16. Adherence to the company’s Quality procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  1. Degree in an engineering or process related discipline (B.Eng or B.Sc Eng)
  1. Minimum of 8 – 10 years’ experience in Industrial Automation environment with specific experience on ICSS.
  2. Minimum 2-3 years sales experience.
  3. Experience in preparing and reviewing systems proposals

Desirable:

  1. Training in sales / marketing / negotiation/ management/computer technology/contract management.
  2. Further qualification in business administration or sales/marketing

  3. Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) – Minimum Intermediate level proficiency.
  4. Working knowledge of contracts.
  5. Working knowledge of project financial controls

Additional Parametres

Willing to work after hours when required.
